For one of the top global consulting companies we are looking for Manager- IT security and/or Senior Associate IT security with prior consulting experience. This is a full time permanent role with the top consulting company.

As part of this consulting company’s IT Security and Controls practice, your role will be to help clients build scalable and sustainable infrastructures that both protects and enables access to the organizations critical business and information assets. You understand that ‘security’ is not just technical security, but also business process control, privacy, compliance and risk management.

IT Security and Controls Services is the solution set provided to clients at any time to assess, design, build and maintain the IT security and controls infrastructure. Using a variety of best practices, tools, and frameworks, you will assess current security and controls environment, work with stakeholders to understand gaps and issues, and put in place actionable plans to enhance the security and controls environment to meet the present and future business and regulatory requirements.

The company is seeking a manager of IT Security to join their practice to meet their clients’ demands for high quality, independent advice and delivery capability. They are looking for an individual who can continue to expand the presence in the market and deliver and oversee related initiatives. The primary responsibilities are to:


Establish credibility with prospective clients by demonstrating knowledge of various aspects of Information Security and identify opportunities for assistance


Provide thought leadership and direction for the Information Security practice in the Canadian marketplace.


Recruit, retain and develop the Information Security team by bringing superior leadership skills


Ensure the quality of deliverables and clients are satisfied with the work


Team with your colleagues in other lines of services in support of client needs for Information Security services

This position may require some travel and will be based out of our Toronto office .

Requirements

Demonstrated ability in the following areas is required for this position:

* Bachelor’s degree in Business or Computer Science, MBA, or Masters degree in Computer Science;
* Technical designations like CISSP, CISA or CISM;
* Minimum of 7 years in IT security and controls;
* Solid mix of business and technical capabilities;
* Ability to identify opportunities with clients and propose solutions that meet the clients needs;
* Clear, articulate and confident written and verbal communication skills;
* Strong presentation skills;
* Sound report writing skills;
* Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities;
* Ability to develop and manage senior-level relationships;
* Strong project management and delivery skills;
* Ability to multitask;
* Strong facilitation skills;
* Immediate credibility with senior management through personal presence and demeanour; and,
* Desire to work in a constantly changing environment as part of a dynamic team of IT Security Advisors.


Desirable Technical Skills and Experience

Demonstrated ability in some or all of the following areas is an asset for this position:

* Information Risk Assurance
* Threat and Vulnerability assessments
* Knowledge of the landscape of regulatory requirements such as Sarbanes-Oxley, Bill 198, PIPEDA
* Security Strategy and Governance
* Policy and standards development (from email communications to use of removable media)
* Knowledge of IT security and controls frameworks such as CobiT and ISO 17799
* Security Awareness and Education
* Organizational and Process change management
* Responsibility frameworks and organizational design
* Infrastructure, Networks and Applications
* Application Security Assessment and Controls (including penetration testing)
* Security Architecture Design and Assessment
* Knowledge of landscape of the IT security and controls vendors and technologies (from Intrusion detection, patch management to access control)
* Network Design and Security Architecture
* Identity and Access Management
* Data ownership, classification and management
* Authentication and access control solutions
* Policy development and controls process design
* Legal, Privacy and Forensics
* Evidence retention requirements and processes
* Intellectual property management
* Compliance reviews
