Are there any official books used to study for the GPEN Cert.?

Currently there is no book that has been published for the GPEN.

The certification as you know is fairly new compare to the GCIH or CEH or QEH.

If you look at the content of the GPEN, it is very much the same as most of the other ones with more reality. It is not focused only on tools but more focused on techniques, skills, and know how.

Hopefully the folks at SANS will come out with a book soon.

If you know anyone attending a large SANS conference such as Orlando coming up, ask that person to buy you a set of books.

Then you can study from those books as they have plenty of notes below the slides. Ed Skoudis did a great job.
