The latest version of the CEH curriculum and CBK and been released. This version has greatly improve and both quality and content. A key area that was missing has been added: Methodology. I think it is important for professional security tester to have a sound methodology in their approach to testing, be able to see where it fits within an enterprise security plan, and be able to interact within a Red Team following the methodology.

I was also invited to Beta test version 3 of their exam. I was very impressed by the new style of questions that were adopted. A large portion of them are scenario based and will force the student to think through, it will ensure the student understood the material and he did not simply learned the right answer without really knowing the subject.

The new V3 exam is broken down as follows:
Number of Questions: 125
Passing Score: 70%
Test Duration: 2 Hours and 30 Minutes
Test Format: Multiple Choice
Test Delivery: Prometric Prime

It is nice to see that the EC-Council is showing serious support behind their cert and listening to the feedback that has been provided to them by professional in the field.
